measures to ensure that Mongols couldnt be able to won the hardly secured land by the King. The
threat of Mongols was at peak during the reign of Khilji dynasty. So Ala ud din Khilji was compelled to
take coercive measures for containing the Mongols. The only way to do this was to maintain a huge
standing army, cavalry and infantry. But to curb the crisis of instability that could have been provoked by
Mongol invasion, there was another crisis looming at the head of king. It was crisis of financing such a
large army at low pay scale. Here comes the idea of price control system, as given by Ala ud Din Khilji.

Currently, governments around the globe are passing through both health as well as economic crisis due
to Corona pandemic. Toughest time in the history is again faced by governments now a day. The
governments have to trade off between flattening the curving and the level of economic activity. If govt
want to flatten the curve then it has to afford a very low economic activity leading to recession and it
might be depression as well. While, if government wants to insulate itself from severe recession or
depression, it has to afford the slope in curve.
