Passengers arriving on Vande Bharat Mission flights who undergo mandatory quarantine in India will be allowed to carry their free baggage allowance on a subsequent domestic flight to their final destination, if they present their VBM boarding pass, the domestic flight is within 48 hours of quarantine ending, and they can provide proof of quarantine. Passengers connecting from Air India evacuation flights domestically will pay reduced excess baggage fees of INR 4500 or INR 250/kg depending on the destination's baggage rules, as long as their connection is within 24 hours of the evacuation flight or quarantine ending.

Passengers arriving by Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flights to India
and subsequently undergoing mandatory quarantine at the first port of
entry will be allowed to carry forward same Free Baggage Allowance entitlement on their next Domestic Flight to their final destination, subject to the following conditions/check:
1. Passenger should present the original ticket/boarding card of
the VBM flight.
2. The gap between the end of quarantine period and the new domestic flight should not be more than 48 hours.
3. Passenger should be able to provide proof regarding his
quarantine stay in India.
Special Charges for additional baggage for passengers having domestic
connections on Air India Evacuation flights
i) Passengers connecting to/from Evacuation flights to destinations
having PC concept:
Additional piece(s) (Up to 23Kgs for Economy and 32Kgs for
First/Business Class passenger) at INR 4500(plus applicable GST) for the Domestic Sector.
ii) Passengers connecting to/from Evacuation flights to
destinations having weight concept:
Charge for baggage above Domestic free baggage allowance at a reduced
Excess baggage rate at INR 250/kg (plus applicable GST) for the Domestic Sector.
The above rates are applicable only to passenger(s) having a
connection with an Evacuation Flight operated by Air India.
On the out-bound connection has to be within 24 hours and on the
in- bound connection should be within 24 hours post completion of mandatory quarantine period applicable at the gateway airport.
