Analysis of the transcription
from the point of view of vocabulary, grammar and interaction.

From the point of view of vocabulary can easely be mentioned the following
elements: Lexical size is receptive and it presents enough knowledge that is needed to
explain and to understand the message. Repetition: In line 47 we have << “ o gafat-o cu o
chestie” , “am oprit la o benzinărie” , ”o fumat” >> mentioned more than once in the same
explanation. And also we have the interjection ”ummm” in line 18 mentioned many time as a
sign of thinking or trying to remember the facts. Fillers: In Line 10 - “ummm”. Also Denisa
uses the filler “știi” in line 15 and in line 34. Another filler is “na” used in lines 17, 18, 32,
34, 69 and 72. Discourse markers which are used to connect what is said with what has
been said. For example ”adică” used in lines 68 and 71, and „păi da” in lines 69 and 72.
Interractional signals: Feedback
( L 46 ), back – channelling ( L 19 and 44 “da, da”).
Elements of grammar we can say that there are plenty. Firstly, it has to be mentioned
that the spoken grammar is not written grammar realised as a speech. Some elements in this
area are: Syntactic non-clausal units-inserts: here are mentioned response words
( L 16 -”dap” and 46 - ”știu”), back-channel words (in L 19 and 44 - ”da, da”) and
interjections
( L 10,18,27,43 - ”Ummm” and 13, 27, 28, 72 - ”pffff”). Abdonment represents the utterance
abandoned by the speaker and an example in this case is in line 68. Interruption of another
speacker can be observed many time during the transcription, for example, in lines 4, 23 and
27. Completition by another speaker can be found in lines 4 and 67. Ellipsis shows up
when the subject of the conversation is recoverable from the context. For example, in lines 39
and 43 Patricia speaks about Mr. P. and she does not mention the name everytime. Deixis can
be indentified in this case as a feature of space. For example: in line 32 and in line 39 is
meantioned “Shopping City”, in line 30 is mentioned ”în Dâmboviței”, in line 52 we have ”în
Șagului”, and in line 47 is mentioned ”pe lângă Județean”. Also there are informative
questions as in line 1 ( ” Când dai de carnet?”) and in line 49 (Și când mai ai acuma
următoarea dată?).
Elements of interaction the following can be mentioned: stress (L 7,30 and 46),
intonation ( raised voice in L 13,17,55), word repetition ( L 47 and 18) , overlaping (it
happens may times, as an example we can give line 2, 3, 4) , unfinished utterance ( L 23),
swearing ( the usage of ”în puii mei ” in L 29, 39, 47), colloqual language ( the presence of
”frate” in L 3, 29, 37, 43), human agent – the speaker as the subject of the sentence ( L 38) ,
story telling ( L 18, 29, 30, 43, 47).
