My name is Angela Patricia Arias Tibaquirá, I have a Bachelor’s


Degree in Modern Languages and a Bachelor’s Degree in
Administrator of Computer Systems, a Master’s Degree in
Administration and a Master’s Degree in Education. I belong to the
CCAV Eje Cafetero and I am the Director of this academic course
of English B1.

First of all, I want to inform you that the


platform for the English course has
changed on the virtual campus and now
has only 3 environments. I invite you to
review and familiarize yourselves with
them and to explore the different buttons it
has.

Next you should turn to the General


Course Forum. Once there, you should
write a short presentation in English about yourself, your interests and expectations in this
course.

in the learning environment.

topics and perform the practice
exercises. You can see this video

these recommendations:
Keep in mind these recommendations:
1. This course lasts 16 weeks. It contains
6 activities corresponding to 75% and
the final exam being 25% of the grade.
There are 3 production activities:
Writing, Speaking and Technological
Development Production Task, 3
automatic activities and the final exam.

2. Read the Course agreements link and


click on accept to start the course.

3. Check the course agenda regularly for dates of activities. Try to keep to the schedule as
in this course you cannot take an exam to pass it.

4. Organize your time and use it for your own learning process!

5. Always read the messages from your tutor in the email, in the course general forum
and Course news forum and the activities forums. It is quite important that you follow
the guidelines in order to succeed in developing this course.

6. Spend time studying and learning English on your own.

7. Don’t forget to update your profile including a picture of you. This is extremely
important to us.

8. Speaking activities must be timed by the tutor. It is entirely your responsibility to do so.

9. Remember to attend the course webconferences. You can find the dates in Initial
Information Environment and through Course news forum.
