1.) PAPER BAG PRODUCTION

In today’s world, we can easily see a shift towards sustainability. Plastic bags are no more the
first choice of learned enterprises for packing the deliverables. This would be a low-budget, eco-
friendly and a fruitful startup for Rural India.
2.) PAPER NAPKINS/TOILET ROLL/ FACIAL PAPER
Hygiene is an essential component of healthy living, integral to achieving health and preventing
disease. Not just selecting the right food choices but also cooking & consuming them in a
hygienic way is equally important in preventing the infectious diseases. Considering the
importance and aspects of the setup cost, this is also a feasible option for creating employment
in Rural India.
3.) ORGANIC SOAP PRODUCTION
This would be like shooting two birds with one stone. First, creating employment opportunities
in the village and second, going local. These days, especially in the current pandemic, we are
seeing a shift towards the local brands.
4.) BREAD/BISCUIT PRODUCTION
In modern days, bread is now becoming one of the most essential food items in human diet due
to its readymade availability and high nutritive value. It is the most consumable wheat based
bakery product while biscuit industry in India is huge contributing approximately 60% of the
organized sector. No matter the brand, even the smaller enterprises of bread and biscuit barely
face loss.
5.) READYMADE FOOD ITEMS
The villages in Maharashtra and Gujarat follow this idea to great extent. We can easily see food
items like Thepla, Khakra, Kachri, etc. which are manufactured in different villages around and
sent to cities like Mumbai for sale. This is not prominent in the Northern parts of India .This
would not only be a low-budget project, but also something which can be easily implemented.

Apart from this, I would also like to suggest:

COVID-19 crisis has been an awakening to many people towards the importance of hygiene and
their safety. People now, more than ever, would think twice before going out without a sanitizer
and a mask in their bags, check if the employees of their favourite restaurant are wearing
proper gloves and caps, etc. Considering these aspects, we can also setup a
mask/sanitizer/disposable or anti-bacterial finished gloves and caps manufacturing unit. Even
if a unit is not possible, we can setup various sewing machines in their houses and provide them
the fabric for sewing masks.
