Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 3 Write a storybook presenting


five descriptions.
1. Activity Description

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Learning outcome 1: Apply basic and concrete vocabulary, that is a series of


phrases and sentences related to personal information, daily activities, and stories of
life events in written communication tasks.

Learning outcome 4: Identify specific and explicit information from short and
simple written texts on familiar matters through various reading tasks.

The activity consists of:

Initial Remark: Study the contents in the e-book:


 Unit 1 - Special Occasions
 Unit 2 – Relationships
 Unit 3 - House and Home
 Unit 4 - Clothing and Weather
 Unit 5 – On Sale!
After you complete the different practices in the e-book you must proceed to do
the activities below.

Reminder: Register to participate in 2 English Speaking Sessions per week. Total of


sessions during the semester (16). The tutor will send a registration form via the
internal mail of this course. Be attentive to participate in each one of the encounters
throughout the period.

Part one: Reading
Download the document. “Template task 3”. There, you will find a reading: “Meet
Joe and Ana, look how they introduce themselves”. Read the text and complete the
information required.

Part two: Forum


Answer the following questions in the forum. (Don’t attach any file, write the texts
directly in the forum).

1. Write a 10 sentences text in which you introduce yourself. It must include: name,
age, two personality traits, an activity you like, an activity you dislike, location and
favorite book.

2. Write a 10 sentences description of your favorite celebration or holiday. It must


include: name of the celebration, activities you do, food you it, clothes you wear,
etc.

3. Write a 10 sentences description of household chores you do in your house. Use


adverbs of frequency (Always-sometimes-never-rarely-often)
Example:
“I usually wash the dishes”.

4. Write a 10 sentences list of TV shows or movies or music or book you are


watching, listening or reading currently. Last 2 sentences must present what you
are always doing at 7AM and at 7PM.
Examples:
“Currently, I am reading The book of secrets by Osho”
“I am always having breakfast at 7AM…”

5. Write a 10 sentences description on clothes that you must wear according to four
seasons or the weather in different regions of your country.
Example:
“I must wear a scarf in winter.”
“I must wear shorts when I travel to the Caribbean Coast”

Part three: story book


6. Design a story book in which you present the information from the 5 texts you just
wrote (part two). Be creative! Use photos and images to recreate each part of the
story book and add audio to it (read the information from each slide). You can

create your story book using Power point and turning it into a video. Then you will
upload it in you tube.

7. Present your story book in the forum (post the link of your story book to watch it).
Invite your partners to review and read your story book.

8. Read your partners’ storybooks and write some feedback comments about their job.

9. The final individual document must be the template for task 3 where you develop
the reading exercise. You add a screenshot of your story book and the link of your
video (story book). Submit this document in the monitoring and evaluation
environment.

Study the activities from the e-book.
Download the template for task 3.
Participate in the forum by sharing the answers to the questions proposed in the
guide and the link to your video.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must:


Send the final document (template for task 3) in which you develop the reading
exercise and add a screenshot of your story book and the link of your video (story
book).

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidences, consider the following:

 Remember you need to participate in the forum on time, take screenshots that
evidence your participation and paste them in the final document.

 The document must have a front page including information such as: title or
name of the activity, student’s name, student’s code, tutor’s name, university,
school, program, course and date. (Remember to check the APA style)

 Before submitting the requested product, student should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
