COURSE DESCRIPTION This key objective of the course is to learn about the importance of Information Technology (IT) in running, disrupting, transforming, and building the business. Further, this course provides a basic grounding and understanding of Information Technology (IT) concepts and data skills necessary for business managers. In 21% century’s technology driven world, with upcoming technology such as machine vision, Al, 1oT, and Blockchain; companies are bound to transform their existing business processes and contrive a new ‘model to run it. To run the present business, data has emerged as the most valuable asset of companies. Presently, companies can collect voluminous data with relative ease. In fact, many companies have more data than they can handle, Operationally, this requires a disciplined approach for capturing, transforming, and abstracting data to make efficient and effective decisions. Data become more meaningful when it is analyzed for trends, patterns, relationships, and other useful information. All managers need to analyze data and make quantitative and logic-based decisions in their job. Use of computer-based models can immensely help a prospective manager to accomplish his day to day task efficiently. One of the major objectives of this course is to enable the participants in understanding the IT, its innovative business application, and relevant business concepts. IT also develop capability in generating insights via modeling in a wide range of realistic situations. This course offers hands on, example-based approach and introduces fundamental concepts using the spreadsheet software ~ Microsoft Excel.
