Evidence: The perfect city / town

Imagine that in 10 years your city / town will be perfect. What will it be like? Think
about the problems your city has now and how they can be solved for it to be
perfect in 10 years.

Write a description of your city in 10 years. Use will and the vocabulary learned in
this learning activity. Highlight will-sentences with green and vocabulary words
with blue. Remember to use connectors and punctuation.

Take a look at the example below to help you get started.

 "I think my city will be better in 10 years. Probably there will not be traffic jams
anymore. Also public transportation will be clean, efficient and organized. For
this to happen, the roads will have to be in perfect conditions.

After solving social problems and creating better job opportunities, it will be the
safest city in the world. In addition, we will have the best museums and art
galleries. Besides, there will be a lot of green areas and parks to enjoy. We will
have the best football team, not like the one we have now which performs
poorly. I believe people will be friendly. And finally, the most important aspect
will be to have more public universities, so everybody will have the chance to
study.

It will be as nice as a European city, but a lot more enjoyable and vibrant
though.”

Description:

In 10 years, my city will be bigger, actually there are many constructions companies, which are
building many housing projects in the suburbs of the city, so I think in some years the towns
near the city will be, join with the city, like in the case of Bogota and Soacha. I think that due
to this situation the population will increase in my city. Therefore, it will be necessary to
implement new clean options of transportation like the subway and encourage the use of the
bicycle daily. Also, I think that the quantity of cars in the streets of the city will increase, since
everyone will drive their cars to their work. So it will be necessary improve the infrastructure
of the avenues and the streets of the city to make more easy the mobility of the cars through
the city. I think that there will be many green zones, like parks, inside the city. The people in
the city will also be more conscientious about we must take care of the planet, so the city will
be less polluted. Many people will grow their own food in their houses, so it won’t be
necessary to bring food from other parts of the country.

In 10 years, I think that the government must improve the health system in Colombia, in 10
years we need have more and best hospitals that we have actually, with better equipment and
more doctors better qualified in her jobs. In addition, must incentive the creation of new
companies and own business, with its creation, will increase the employment in the city.
