China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)

Introduction:

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a project between china and pakistan to
improve the Energy sector, Basic infrastructure, Gwadar port and industrialization of Pakistan. It
is a 3,000-kilometer network of Roads, Railways, and Pipelines to transport oil and gas from
southern Pakistan’s Gwadar Port to Kashgar city.

The agreement of this project is signed between the president of china Xinjiang & former prime
minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

This project was launched on April 20,2015.At that time the cost of this project was 46$Billion.

Currently Retd.Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa is serving as a chairman of CPEC Authority.
