SPELLING BEE MECHANICS AND GUIDELINE

1. Teams should have three representatives who will compete as a group for the

spelling bee.

2. The facilitators will provide the materials needed by the contestants.

3. There will be three categories in the spelling bee: Easy, Average, and Difficult. Each

category has ten words.

4. For the easy round, the contestants will be given only ten seconds to spell the

word. 15 seconds for the average round, and 20 seconds for the difficult round. Each

correct spelled word is equivalent to a corresponding points: 2 points for easy

category, average 3 points and difficult 5 points.

5. Contestants will only start to spell after the host articulates the word, what part of

speech the word belongs, and after using the word in a sentence.

6. Points from the easy to difficult round will be added and the army who garnered

most points wins.
