(+34) 902 117 829 Emait pedidos@infoagro.com APPRECIATION OF THE QUALITY OF A FRUIT OR VEGETABLE BATCH Why and how to use statistical results. 1) To appreciate the most precisely possible the quality of a fruit batch, you have to measure at least a representative sample of thirty fruits, 2) By nature a fruit is heterogeneous, one face being exposed to the sun and the other not; it is therefore indispensable to take at least two measurements by fruit. 3) Very often the average of the sample measured is used to estimate if the batch is in the area of acceptance But this way is incorrect because an average in the area of acceptance can be obtained with a lot of fruits outside of limits. For example: 15 fruits measured at 60 and 15 fruit measured at 90 = 75 of average 15 fruits measured at 70 and 15 fruit measured at 80 ~ 75 of average For a same average the 2nd batch is more interesting because more homogeneous. It is therefore advised to use statistical results that allow to appreciate fully and objectively the quality of a bateh, 4) Statistical results. ‘The standard devi limits.
