You can use a slightly humid rag to clean it after each use. All damages coming from shocks, water or juice infiltration will cause the loss of the guarantee. DUROFEL DFT 100 IS FRAGILE Durofel DFT 100 is sensitive to shocks. After each use, unscrew the tip to protect the sensor from shocks. Afier each use replace durofel DFT 100 in its packaging. Due to temperature variations, the road value can be different and for a better precision, itis necessary to calibrate the device 4 follows : Press simultaneously "->" and "E", Wait 3 seconds. Press "E" = calibration Keep the tip free and press "E" = to validate Press the tip on a table and validate with "©". (+34) 902 117 929 Email: pedidos@infoagro.com DUROFEL DET 100 OPERATING MODE ~ Set the suitable tip according to the fruits you want to test. ~ Take 30 representative fruits of a batch = Make on every fruit 2 measurements on the equatorial plan, use the convex and fleshy zones and avoid hollows, furrows or sutures. - Apply perpendicularly, slowly but firmly the tip on the fruit up to the mechanical stop, then remove the fruit, ~ Important: always use your DUROFEL higher than the fruit so that the residual juice does not penetrate the device. In this case, you can scan the alphabet up and down by pressing arrows keys - with the E key to modify next letter. (+34) 902 117 829 Emait pedidos@infoagro.com APPRECIATION OF THE QUALITY OF A FRUIT OR VEGETABLE BATCH Why and how to use statistical results. 1) To appreciate the most precisely possible the quality of a fruit batch, you have to measure at least a representative sample of thirty fruits, 2) By nature a fruit is heterogeneous, one face being exposed to the sun and the other not; it is therefore indispensable to take at least two measurements by fruit. 3) Very often the average of the sample measured is used to estimate if the batch is in the area of acceptance But this way is incorrect because an average in the area of acceptance can be obtained with a lot of fruits outside of limits. For example: 15 fruits measured at 60 and 15 fruit measured at 90 = 75 of average 15 fruits measured at 70 and 15 fruit measured at 80 ~ 75 of average For a same average the 2nd batch is more interesting because more homogeneous. It is therefore advised to use statistical results that allow to appreciate fully and objectively the quality of a bateh, 4) Statistical results. ‘The standard devi limits. Schematically if all fruits of a batch are measured: 68,26% of measurements are included between the average + or - the standard deviation. 95.46% of measurements are included between the average + or - twice standard deviation. 99,73% of measurement are included between the average + or — three times standard deviation. ion allows to know if most of the measured batch is situated between choosen Confidence interval: For a measured batch of thirty fruit, the confidence interval is + or - 0.4 times the standard deviation. u Infoagro Systems, S.L. (+34) 902 117 929 Email: pedidos@infoagro.com ‘The lower is the standard deviation, the more homogeneous is the batch ‘The VC (variation coefficient) allows to estimate a batch as follows: VC lower than 1 ood batch VC between 10 and 15% = medium batch VC higher than 15% = bad batch 5) Conclusion In order to appreciate fully the quality of a batch, itis therefore recommended to use both the average and the Variation coefficient that defines its homogeneity.
