EXPERIMENT - 5
Modeling of Component in 3D – V block

Aim: To Draw the V-Block shown in Drawing by using CATIA Software.

Equipment: PC With CATIA Software

V-BLOCK
Procedure:

 Click on the CATIA icon, present on the desktop

 Go to file ‘MENU’ and click on ‘NEW’ ,a dialogue box is opened .select ‘part’ option from the list in
the box.
 Select the Required plane YZ
 Select ‘sketcher’ option from ‘sketcher tool bar’
 Create the following rough sketch using ‘profile’ icon ’profile tool bar’

 Give the dimensions to the rough sketch as shown below, using ‘constraint’ Icon of ‘constraint tool bar’.

 Click on ‘Exit work bench’ icon in the ‘work bench Tool bar’’ to exit from sketcher work bench to
‘part design work bench’.
 Select ‘pad’ icon from’ sketched base features tool bar ‘and give the length of extrusion /pad i.e
50mm.
 Save the file.

Result:V-BLOCK is drawn using CATIAsoftware.

EXPERIMENT - 6

Modeling of a component in 3D-Angular block

Aim:To draw the following Angular Block by using CATIA software.

Equipment: Pc With CATIA Software

Procedure:

 Click on the CATIA icon, present on the desktop.

 Go to ‘file’ menu and click on ‘New’ dialogue box is opened. Select ‘part’ option from the list in the
box.
 Select the required plane YZ
 Select Sketcher option from the ‘sketcher tools bar’.
 Create the following rough sketch using ’profile’ icon ;profile tool bar’.

 Give the dimensions to the rough sketch as shown below,using ‘constraint’icon of ‘constraint tool
bar’.

 Click on exit work bench icon the work bench tool bar to exit from ’sketcher work bench ‘to part
design the work bench’
 Select a ‘pad icon from sketched base features tool bar’ and give the length of extrusion /pad
100mm.
 Select the plane on which semi circular hole to be created and select sketcher.
 Draw the closed semi circle as shown in figure using profile tool bar and give the dimensions as
shown in the following figure by using constraint icon of constraint tool bar.

 Click on exit work bench icon. Now select pocket icon from sketched based feature tool bar to
remove the material and give the length and depth as 20mm.
 Select the required plane on which slot to be created and click on sketcher icon .
 Draw the slot and give the dimensions as shown in figure.

 Click on exit work bench icon. Now select pocket icon from sketched based
feature tool bar to remove the material and give the length and depth as 20mm
 To Required model is created now save the file.
