I am named, Paolo Enrino Talag Pascual by my parents when I was born on the 8th

of February in the year nineteen ninety-four – making me twenty and six years of
age this year. I finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication at the
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and pursued a career in film, photography,
visual arts and creative writing. After some time, I endeavored to take on legal
education so as to strive to attain the paramount goal of becoming a lawyer in the
future. I first enrolled at San Beda University situated at Mendiola, Manila and
subsequently transferred to San Beda College-Alabang where I intend to finish my
studies and graduate from.

I am striving to become a lawyer for various personal and not so personal reasons.
One of the latter is public service. Injustice has been around way before I was born
and will continue to exist way after I am dead. However, while I am still on this
Earth alive and breathing, I intend to go against any injustice that may come my
way or that I may happen upon. The way that I see myself doing so is through the
legal system. By making sure that justice is afforded by all – rich or poor, no
matter who they may be, helping those who had been previously denied of it. To
put it simply, I would like to make sure that “justice is served.”

That said, while all the areas of law prevailing in our beloved country are all
interesting and all worth pursuing, the one area that my heart and interest seems to
gravitate to is the area of Criminal law. While my reason to become a lawyer of
combating injustice and “serving justice” as well as to afford it to those who are
not able or denied of it, may seem cheesy and cliché – there is truth and honesty in
it. I do recognize my limitations as a person and my would be limitations as a
future lawyer, I know that I cannot help every and all persons, but that is also the
reason why I would like to pursue the area of Criminal law. Doing so would at the
very least allow me to help those who have suffered or who may suffer abuse,
harm or any inhumane acts. I will be able to console the victims of cruelty and
circumstance by bringing them reparations through the sight of evildoers being
punished under the law. On the other side of the coin, I would also be able to
uphold the duties of a lawyer to afford due process to those accused of crimes they
may or may not have committed – especially to those who are truly innocent.

On a lighter note, I consider my safe to be a lover of the arts. Being a very visual
person, I found that my interest piqued in film and photography. I enjoy watching
and studying films that I intake. Lights and shadows fascinate me. Another interest
of mine is in sports, specifically basketball – I am someone who may be considered
a Lebron James diehard fan, that is why I am rooting for the Los Angeles Lakers to
win the championship this year. My taste in music is, if I may say, widely ranged.
From classical to vintage, pop, hip hop and, rock and roll. I will listen to anything
as long as it is well made in accordance to its genre and its lyrics are beautifully
written that it speaks to my heart and not just my ear.
