Effective Teacher Input
Videos
* Teacher Input can be direct instruction but does not have to be *

Step 1 - State the objective

Step 2 - Give brief info (if applicable)


Can include (but not limited to):
· explanations
· examples
· an exemplar of the assessment task/project
· discussion
· graphic organizer

Step 3 - Tell student what they will need:


· to know
· to perform
· or to be able to do
to master the objective

Step 4
Give an brief outline of what will be covered/discussed/simulated/etc in the video
which must include, but not limited to
· vocabulary
· concept(s)
· skills

Most, if not all videos will be injected with MC questions, via EdPuzzle or other
software that allows teacher to embed questions in their videos. Videos will be
accompanied with Guided Notes (A Google Form on my dbumphis@jpsms.org
Drive account.

After each video, a CFU (check for understanding) activity should follow.

Afterward, Teacher Modeling occurs, utilizing the "Think Aloud Strategy"

SPECIAL NOTES
· simplify the language by using kid friendly words - avoid using BIG words.
· use parenthesis (ex. "please remember to do the homework") to indicate
messages.
