1. Chairman of committees of secretaries on administration
2. Chairman of conference of chief secretaries of state
3. Acts as senior advisor to PM
4. Assistance to CoM
5. Provides Agenda of cabinet and minutes of it’s meetings
6. Responsible for administration of Transaction of Business rules, 1961 and Allocation
of Business rules, 1961
7. ensures that Prez, Vice prez are kept informed of major activities of all depts

 Role:
1. Advise PM on domestic and foreign policy matters
2. Overseeing affairs of dept under PM
