B. Exercise: Revise the following sentences so that they have real subjects followed by
strong verbs.

2. It is George’s delay in completing the paperwork that is blocking my advancement.
3. There may be new representatives added to our sales staff.
4. It is important that you complete your report on time.
5. There are many clients in the reception area waiting to see you.
C. Exercise: Edit the following sentences for parallel structure.
1. You should focus on getting the job done and to call customers.
2. I will plan to attending the meeting and answering their questions.
3. Your enthusiasm will go a long way toward improving customer relations and get people
involved.
4. The building foreman has requested that all residents keep up with changes and making
an effort to notify management about their plans.

D. Exercise: Edit the following sentences for parallel structure with active and passive
voice.
1. We have received mail all week, and now it must be sorted.
2. An invoice was sent to you last week, and we are expecting payment by the 10 th of this
month.
3. Projects have been assigned, but I will consider changes if made in writing.
4. An invitation was not sent to them, so I do not expect a reply from them.
