Original jurisdiction – bestowed upon the court for first instance.

An example is the RTC which has


original jurisdiction over civil actions that are incapable of pecuniary estimations.

Appellate jurisdiction is that given to a court by means of an appeal from the judgement of a lower
court.

General jurisdiction which means that the power of the court to adjudicate all cases except those
expressly withheld from its power. the rtc is an example of a court of gen juris

Special or limited jurisdiction which limits the court juris only to some particular cases.

Exclusive – the power of a court or a tribunal to adjudicate a case to the exclusion of other courts or
tribunals

Concurrent – sometimes referred to as coordinate jurisdiction is the power conferred upon different
courts whether of the same level or of different ranks.

If the case is filed first with the rtc ex baguio and the rtc baguio has validly acquired jurisdiction, the such
rtc will take cognizance of the case with the exclusion of other case.
