Dear Mr Atinkson,

I would like to put forth my concerns for the students using the pipe to get
to and from school as well as the problems they have to face on a daily
basis.

I would like to bring to your attention that around 60 students cross this 5
metre bridge on a daily basis to avoid taking a longer route of around 2
kilometres, not to mention the dangers of risking their lives as well as the
calamities they need to face on rainy days. There has been more than 1
instance of a catastrophic mishaps occurring, ranging from broken arms to
costing lives. A student almost cost his life while trying to cross the pipe,
missing the water, fortunately leaving only with a broken arm; whereas in
another case, a housewife and a student cost their life as they slipped of
the pipe.

I, being a student who has to use the pipe too, know the feeling of
trepidation and utter dread of having to take this route. However, everyone
could be eased if a bridge could be built over the river. This would not only
help the people cross the river with ease and confidence, but would also
save time and put the parents at rest, knowing the safety of their children is
assured.

Although many promises have been made to my people and me before, I

am anticipating that a form of convenience will be provided to us this time. I
hope this letter bought to light the dangers and obstacles faced by people,
and expect a solution. I wish the best for you.

Yours sincerely,
Areej Akhtar
