Far away into a tropical country once exist the island of Hanabibi.

A rich and progressive

country. Hanabibi got most of its fortune from selling oil from the sea. But a counterpart to its success is
the fact that everyone unnoticeably destroys the nearby sea.

One day on a busy day, something awaken from its slumber. Amakabe, a guardian spirit of the
sea, rose up from his thousand years of sleep. First thing he does is to travel around the seas of the
tropic to make sure everything’s balanced and right. All seems fine for him except from one place, the
Hanabibi. Hanabibi’s salt water disgust Amakabe, but what disgusts him most is the people responsible
for its destruction.

Hanabibi’s sea became a so polluted that no aquatic animal can survive within it. Life
underwater was disturbed by the government’s action of extracting oil. Tons of garbage are also left
beside the bay, making sand creatures hard to survive.

Because of the irresponsibility that he seen, he decided to make an action. He made a tsunami
strong enough to bring back the garbage to the land. Leaving no trash behind and left nothing but a
clean bay. The people of Hanabibi was surprised on the expected tsunami but what surprises them most
is the amount of garbage that they always leave on the bay. Because of that happened, a majority of
people made a petition to stop the piling of garbage to the bay. The government later on implemented a
law against this act.

Amakabe did became happy for that it made a change to the island’s policy. However,
something is still not right. He wants the people to stop extracting oil from the sea because of the
damage it causes to the water’s ecosystem.

After days of thinking of what can he do, he then thought of a solution. He turned his self into an
enormous shark swimming in the water to scare the most in the people. He continued this for a week
but after that, the people just continue on getting oil like nothing happened. With that failure, he came
up to an idea of bringing back the carcasses of fishes and other aquatic animals hoping that it will scare
everyone enough to stop extracting oil, but it also failed. He thinks and he thinks of what can he do to
stop the people.
