DEPARTMENT : DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING CLO/PL MARKS

NAME OF COURSE : ELECTRONIC COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN O

COURSE CODE : DEE30071 CLO1
SESSION : JUNE 2019
NAME :
MATRIX NO. : TOTAL /100
CLASS :

PRACTICAL WORK : 3
TITLE : TRANSIENT ANALYSIS
OBJECTIVES : And the end of this lab session, the student should be able to:
1. Know the concept of Transient Analysis
2. Know the steps to do Transient Analysis
3. Simulate circuit using Transient Analysis
MATERIAL AND APPARATUS : Personal Computer with Orcad Family Release 9.2 Software
THEORY : The transient analysis use to look at plots of voltages and current versus
time. This simulation displays waveform as you would see them on an
oscilloscope screen. Using this analysis, we will be able to know what
the circuit does to the input waveform by looking at the output
waveform as a function of time.

PROCEDURE:

PART A : DRAW THE CIRCUIT

1. Construct the circuit below using the circuit simulation package.

2. Save the file : PW3_matrix num.

Figure 3.1
PART B : TRANSIENT ANALYSIS

A. SIMULATION SETTING TRANSIENT ANALYSIS

1. Click Pspice  New Simulation
2. Name : simulate_matrix num
3. Click create
4. Simulation setting dialogue will appear
5. Complete the dialogue box
i) Analysis Type : Time domain (Transient)
ii) Run Time : 2ms
iii) Click SKIPBP then Click OK
iv) Put Voltage Probe at output terminal
v) Click run
6. A window will open, letting you know if the simulation was successful. If there are errors, consult
the Simulation Output file.

B. PLOTTING SIMULATION
1. Click print  page setup
2. Select 1 Plot per page
3. Click OK

C. PREVIEW SIMULATION
1. Click File  Print Preview
2. The simulation circuit will preview
3. If ok and no changing, Click Print

QUESTION
1. Draw the circuit given in Figure 2.2
2. Save the schematic under the name : pw3_ques_amplifier
3. Simulate the circuit using Transient Analysis and get the plot for the input and output waveforms.
Run the simulation until 3 periods
