Considering the numerous applications of Schiff bases in various fields of chemistry, there has

been tremendous interest in developing efficient methods for their preparation. Recent years
have witnessed a major drive to increase the efficiency of organic transformations while
lowering the amount of waste materials. The principles of Green chemistry apply to most of the
synthetic routes with microwave irradiation. Organic reactions under the microwave irradiation
have many advantages compared to the conventional reactions which need very high
temperatures. Microwave assisted reactions are cleaner, last only very few minutes, have high
yield and produce minimum waste. Another method which can be more advantageous is
synthesis of Schiff bases by employing Lemon juice as green catalyst for green approach.
