doctors cannot specify if the mass of tissue found in the CT scan is benign or already cancerous. Different kinds of nodules are also being tracked via
the CT scan.

Other than the CT scan, here are some of the laboratory tests a doctor may conduct in order to verify your condition:

T3
TSH or the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
Ultrasound

You might encounter other types of laboratory tests other than the specified ones. It really depends on the doctor who will be handling you, so make
sure to go to the one who specializes on the field.

Thyromegaly Treatment
For some people, treating small and non cancerous goiters is really not a must because it is not causing problem aside from having the lump. But for
goiters that are malignant or cancerous, treatment is a must because it may lead to greater harm or damage to one’s health if left untreated.

Here are the common treatments for goiter or Thyromegaly:

Levethyroxine suppressive therapy

This is a long procedure that is why the person being treated must be compliant and patient with the treatment.

Thyroid Hormone replacement

Remember, one cause of having goiter is having too much of the hormone, or having less of it. The replacement can be done via surgery or radiation
treatment.

Ethanol Infusion

The small goiter can actually diminish in time, but it is not always the case. Majority of the time it becomes larger in size which creates discomfort to
the person. If that happens, don’t hesitate to contact your health provider immediately. Read articles about goiter or Thyromegaly and how people
who had /have the disease, responded to treatments so that you will have a better idea on how it works. Don’t think twice if the issue is about your
health because we only have one body to take care of. Once you neglect doing your share of responsibility to have a healthy life, then expect that you
won’t have a long one to enjoy.
