1) Power Supply

A power supply is an internal hardware component that supplies components in a computer

with power. The power supply converts a 110-115 or 220-230 volt alternating current (AC) into
a steady low-voltage direct current (DC) usable by the computer and rated by the number of
watts it generates.

2) Motherboard
A motherboard is the main printed circuit board (PCB) in a computer. The motherboard is a
computer’s central communications backbone connectivity point, through which all
components and external peripherals connect

3) Hard Disk
A hard disk is part of a unit, often called a "disk drive," "hard drive," or "hard disk drive," that
stores and provides relatively quick access to large amounts of data on an electromagnetically
charged surface or set of surfaces.

4) Floppy Disk
A floppy disk is a magnetic storage medium for computer systems. The floppy disk is
composed of a thin, flexible magnetic disk sealed in a square plastic carrier. In order to read
and write data from afloppy disk, a computer system must have a floppy disk drive (FDD).

5) RAM
Random Access Memory, or RAM (pronounced as ramm), is the physical hardware inside a
computer that temporarily stores data, serving as the computer's "working" memory.

6) CD/DVD ROM
is a pre-pressed optical compact disc which contains data. The name is an acronym which
stands for "Compact Disc Read-Only Memory". Computers can read CD-ROMs, but cannot
write to CD-ROMs, which are not writable or erasable.

Short for Compact Disc-Read Only Memory, a CD-ROM (shown right) is an optical disc which
contains audio or software data whose memory is read only. A CD-ROM Drive or optical
drive is the device used to read them.
7) SATA Cable
SATA (pronounced say-da), short for Serial ATA (which is an abbreviation for Serial Advanced
Technology Attachment), is an IDE standard first released in 2001 for connecting devices like
optical drives and hard drives to the motherboard.

8) Power Cable
A cable used for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy is called electrical power
cable. The power cable mainly consists of three main components, namely, conductor,
dielectric, and sheath.

9) CMOS Battery
Definition of CMOS and CMOS Batteries. ... CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-
semiconductor) is the term usually used to describe the small amount of memory on a
computer motherboard that stores the BIOS settings. ... CMOS is sometimes referred to as
Real-Time Clock (RTC), CMOS RAM.
10)CPU
A central processing unit (CPU) is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the
instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and
input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions.

11)Heatsink
A heatsink is a device that attaches to a microprocessor to keep it from overheating by
absorbing its heat and dissipating it into the air.

12)CPU Fan
The CPU fan is critically necessary to ventilate the heat generated from the components, and
actively cools the processor by bringing in cooler air before the heat damages the computer
components. Cooling fans for the CPU are available in different sizes and is usually sold with
an aluminum or copper heat sink fan.

13)Network Interface Card

Network Interface Card, the NIC is also referred to as an Ethernet card and network adapter. It
is an expansion card that enables a computer to connect to a network; such as a
home network, or the Internet using an Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector.

14)Audio Card
A sound card is an expansion card or IC for producing sound on a computer that can be heard
through speakers or headphones. Although the computer does not need a sound device to
function, they are included on every machine in one form or another, either in an expansion
slot or built into the motherboard (onboard).

15)Ethernet
Ethernet is the most widely installed local area network (LAN) technology. Ethernet is a link
layer protocol in the TCP/IP stack, describing how networked devices can format data for
transmission to other network devices on the same network segment, and how to put that data
out on the network connection.

16)Computer Case
The housing is the part of your computer that holds all the parts that make the computer
operate.

The computer case serves mainly as a way to physically mount and contain all of the actual
components inside of a computer, like the motherboard, hard drive, optical drive, floppy disk
drive.

The computer case is also known as a tower, box, system unit, base unit, enclosure,
housing, chassis, and cabinet.
