The Pilipinos are known for being religious and it’s the Spaniards who influenced us to be a

Christian or Roman Catholics. The Spaniards stayed here more than 300 years so it’s inevitable not
to be influenced by them. We Pilipinos now celebrate Christmas or what they called Noche Buena
which is the celebration of the birth of Christ our saviour and we even celebrate the saints like for
each barangay there are different saints for their church and they celebrate this by cooking foods
and drinks so that their guest would come and eat at their houses, For me this is the most popular
kind of tradition that we celebrate here in Philippines one of the example of this is the celebration
St. Ñino which is for me the symbol of Cebu. And There are also various practices from the church
like the Santa Cruzan and the Mesa De Gallio which most of us are aware of or even attend to.
These really shows how the Spaniards have influenced us, based from what I had researched
before the Spaniards came here in Philippines the pilipinos already worshipped many gods but the
one who stands out of those gods is Bathala or the creator of everything, This religion still exists in
the far flung barangays or isolated places.
