How to Grow Sunflowers
Sunflower or Helianthus can be planted on our home page as an ornamental flower
to beautify the home page, besides being planted in the yard, we can also plant
sunflowers in pots. How to plant sunflowers in a pot is much more practical because
there is no process of cultivating land or soil.
Here are the materials and equipment needed:
• Sunflower seeds
• Medium / large flower pots
• Tray or Box made of wood
• Land and sand
• Manure or compost
• Shovel
Steps to Plant Sunflower in a Pot:
1. Prepare sunflower seeds / seeds, some varieties include Helianthus Texas Lemon
and Helianthus Sungold Mix, Sunflower Evening Sun, etc.
2. Seedlings by inserting into the nursery media (seedling tray) or made from a
wooden box that has been filled with a mixture of soil and compost with a ratio of 1:

3. Cover the nursery regularly and place it in a location that is exposed to direct
sunlight
4. The seeds will generally germinate until they are 10 days old, prepare the planting
media in a pot with a mixture of manure, sand and soil in a ratio of 1: 2: 3.
5. Move the sunflower seeds that have begun to grow to 15-20cm in size in the
prepared media, then cover again with the soil to the base of the seedling stem.
6. Water it routinely every morning and evening, routine watering is one of the keys
to the success of how to plant sunflowers, because sunflowers do need a lot of water
supply. We can also use watering tricks during the day, with the condition that there
must be a lot of water.
7. Put the flower pot in a place exposed to direct sunlight for approximately 6 to 7
hours per day to maintain the plant's need for sunlight.
8. After the age of 2 months, usually flower buds have begun to appear, and these
buds will begin to bloom 1-2 days after the buds appear.
