The pandemic of COVID-19 has led people to despair and anxiety, as everyone struggles to find an anchor in this time of crisis. The reality of an imminent spiritual death is the greater threat we face these days. Hence, there is a need to intensify our work of new evangelization and to inspire others to embrace this call, in order to save souls. Onward we go as missionary disciples doing the work of new evangelization in this time of the so-called ‘new normal’ to the ends of the earth! For this year’s NEC, we will lead people back to the Word of God. He is the answer we seek in this time of crisis. It is through an encounter with the Living Word that we can be fired up for the work of evangelization! There is a transforming power in God's word that will form us to live Christ and to share Christ. By hearing (being informed), taking to heart (being formed) and deciding (being transformed) to allow His word to come alive in our own lives, we are actively able to fulfill our mission to take part in Christ's work of salvation. We all need to reach out to more people and give them the opportunity to be empowered.
