Introduction:

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak is a premier institute of management education in India.


The Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) of the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak is a
full-time doctoral programme offered in various disciplines. The programme aims at:

1. Developing high-quality researchers and teachers for academic institutions in India and abroad.
2. Producing top-quality management experts and thinkers for business organizations, government,
and society in India and abroad.

Areas of Specialization:
The DPM will be offered in the following broad Areas:
• Economics& Public Policy
• Finance & Accounting
• Human Resources Management and Organizational Behaviour
• Management Information Systems
• Marketing & Strategic Management
• Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques

The programme duration is four years. The participants are given a monthly Fellowship, waiver of
tuition fees, contingency grant to attend international/national conferences and support for research
visits to global partner institutions.

IIM Rohtak aims at excelling in interdisciplinary research globally and is deeply committed to
foster fundamental, applied, and policy-oriented research. It is open to work with partners from
academia, industry and government in fulfilling its goal of excellence. The Institute is strategically
located in the National Capital Region and has proximity to the industrial clusters and the seats of
policymakers. Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM)) at IIM Rohtak strives to incorporate
the strengths of similar programmes in other IIMs and other major institutions and has included
specific innovative features as per the emerging needs. The DPM programme is in line with the vision
of the institute to be a global leader in the creation and dissemination of knowledge in management
and to be India’s future global learning center like the ancient Nalanda was.

Admission Process:

The admission to DPM of IIM Rohtak is open to all Indian citizens, non-resident Indians, persons of
Indian origin living abroad and other foreign citizens. Admission to the programme will be based on the
academic qualifications, performance in the qualifying examination/tests, personal interviews and
the work experience. The programme is fully residential and for four years with the option of
finishing it in three years.
Basic Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates should have at least one of the following qualifications:

• Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent
CGPA;
• Qualifications of CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks + 18 months experience.

• Professional qualifications such as MBBS, LLB and similar qualifications with at least 55%
marks or equivalent CGPA + 18 months experience.
• 4-years/ 8 Semesters Bachelor’s degree, with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks + 18
months experience.
 Five years Integrated Master’s Degree program in any discipline, with at least 55% marks

Qualifying Examination:

A candidate fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria should have a valid test score (not older than five
years from the closing date of application) in any of the following tests mentioned for respective
area:

*For Example relevant subject areas are: Commerce, Computer and applications, Economics, Labour welfare and personal
relation, Mass communication and journalism, Mathematical sciences, Management, Political science, Psychology, Public
administration, Tourism and travel management.

** Candidates possessing PGDM of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent will
be eligible for applying directly.

*** Non-Resident Indians, persons of Indian origin and other foreign citizens should have a
valid GMAT/GRE score of not older than five years from the closing date of application.

Candidates with 2 years of academic experience and master degree or candidate with M.Phil. or
Candidates with Master Degree with thesis in the relevant disciplines may directly appear for
Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by IIM Rohtak for shortlisting.

IMPORTANT:

Those appearing in the final year of eligibility exams can also apply; but, their final selection will
be subject to the successful completion of the requirement. Such applicants should submit the
required proof of their eligibility qualifications before joining the programme.
A candidate can apply in two Areas at a time on payment of separate admission fee. The
shortlisting or selection in one Area will not guarantee shortlisting or selection in another Area.
Further, if different Areas schedule the interviews on the same date and time, the candidate will be
required to decide which Area interview s/he would attend and the candidate will not be entitled to
claim any special consideration including rescheduling of interviews.

Personal Interview:

The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The candidates will be assessed for
their intellectual capabilities, research aptitude and interest in the management discipline.

How to apply:
The online application form can be filled through following link on a payment of Rs 1000/- (for
Indian Citizens) and $ 100 (for foreign citizens or NRIs) as registration charges. A separate
application form to be filled in case of applying for more than one area with additional requisite
registration charges of Rs. 1000/-. The printed application form along with all the documents to be
submitted/sent through post to the institute after the online registration. The required documents for
the DPM application are mentioned in Annexure A-1.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

The participants of the DPM will be given a Fellowship as mentioned below:

 Rs 30,000 for the first two years and


 Rs 35,000 after passing the second year

In addition to this, a merit Fellowship (subject to satisfactory performance) of Rs. 10,000 per
month in the second year and Rs. 15,000 per month in the third and fourth years is given to the
deserving participants.

Contingency Grant:
All the participants will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 1, 85,000/-distributed across four years
of the programme.
Financial Support for Conferences/Academic Exchange:
The participants will be provided potential financial support for attending national and international
conferences as well as for academic exchange visits to partner institutions as per the institute norms.

Hostel and Medical Facilities:

The DPM of IIM Rohtak is a full-time residential programme and all the participants are required
to stay in the campus. The existing medical facilities that are being used by other members of the
Institute will be available to them.

Important:
IIM Rohtak will not charge tuition from the participants who receive the fellowship. They are
expected to pay for their food expenses, admission offer acceptance fee, alumni association fee, and
any other fee specified by the Institute.

The participants who are admitted under the categories of non-resident Indians, persons of Indian
origin living abroad and other foreign citizens will be required to pay the fees as specified by the
Institute.
Annexure A-1:

List of Documents to be enclosed along with application form:

• One copy of filled up application form duly signed by the candidate.


• Payment receipt of Rs.1000/- with the application form.
• One passport size color photograph same as uploaded in the online application. Write name and
application number on the Backside of the photograph.
• Self-Attested copy of the following academic records.
• X / SSLC certificate.
• Pre-Degree/Plus-Two/HSC/VHSC Mark Sheet & Certificate.
• Graduation Mark sheets of all years & Certificate.
• Post-Graduation Mark Sheet of all years & Certificate (if Applicable).
• Category Certificate.
• Self-attested copy of Work Experience Certificate(s)
• Copy of the Score Card/Certificate of CAT / GMAT / GRE (General/Advanced) / UGC-
NET/PGDM-IIM.
• Self-attested copy of a valid Photo Identity proof (Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/AADHAR
Card)
• Copy of Employee ID Card and/or one business card from the present employer
• Please enclose with this application any published or unpublished research work which you might
have completed. You may give abstracts or summaries if the entire document cannot be sent.
•You are requested to attach duly signed sealed envelope containing letter of Recommendation
which could be downloaded from website.
