C.2.2. Background and Experience
Please briefly present the partner organization
ITIS Cartesio is a high school attended by 830 students per year, aged 15-19. The school offers a
technical education in the fields of Telecommunications, Electronics, Bio-Chemical, Graphic and
also High School of Applied Sciences. All students study English as a foreign language.
The Institute is located in a post-industrial area, on the outskirts of Milan, and it interacts with
various stakeholders on the territory.
ITIS Cartesio is located in the Learning Center "Parco Nord", which houses three institutes
(Cartesio, Casiraghi, Montale), attended by about 3000 students.

What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this
application?
Since 1980, our teachers have been offering an education in line with the working world demands
through a continuous exchange of competences with the local stakeholders (Cisco Systems,
Promelit, Unisys, Oracle).
Recently, with the goal of internationalisation, we joined Rete Promos(si), a network of schools
connected to AFS Intercultura, a no-profit institution that organizes students and classes
exchanges in Europe and abroad. More details at the following link:

Please give information on the key staff/persons involved in this application and on the
competences and previous experience that they will bring to the project.
The staff involved in this application is the teaching staff: 7 teachers of scientific subjects, who are
asked to teach part of their curriculum through the means of English as a foreign language (CLIL)
and are engaged in acquiring a C1 level according to the CEFR; 3 teacher of different subjects
(some of them with level C2) who are interested in improving their teaching skills in History,
Maths, Literature, English.
Our staff has not previous experience in job shadowing activities, but they are willing to share and
exchange their teaching competences and experiences with colleagues of similar schools in
Europe, as guests and hosts.
