ADIDAS vs Nike Case Study

1.

In general aspects, the two companies have as a strategy the distribution of their products in a
wholesale manner, dispensing merchandise to the points of sale and in a retail manner from the
points of sale to the final consumer, mainly footwear, sporting goods and department stores. To
minimize production costs, they outsource a large majority of their production to external
suppliers

Additionally, Adidas has its specialized Adidas Golf line which distributes all kinds of supplements
for this sport. On the other hand, Adidas acquired the Rebook brand in 2006 in order to have a
direct competition brand with Nike.

2.

Adidas should pay more attention to the verification of their products, because since they
outsource around 95% of their production, in many cases they do not even review the final
product, which can generate direct effects since customers can be in disagreement with product
quality and if they manage to pass all their products through quality controls they could be
number one in the global apparel industry.
