No less than the Constitution commands us to protect marriage as an inviolable social

institution and the foundation of the family. In our society, the importance of a wedding
ceremony cannot be underestimated as it is the matrix of the family and, therefore, an occasion
worth reliving in the succeeding years. ( GR114791)

It is in this light that we narrate the following undisputed facts:

Spouses Maureen and Edward Rodriguez got married last September 1, 2019.

Six months before their scheduled wedding, they secured the services of defendant Serene
Wedding Events Specialist, a corporation engaged in the business of supplying Wedding
invitations, giveaways, décor, sound system and video recording , pre-nup photo and same day
edit wedding.

It was agreed in the contract (EVIDENCE) between the Spouses and Serene Wedding Events
Specialist represented by its owner and manager Fidel Barroquillo, that at least one month
before the scheduled wedding, a pre-nup photo and video shoot shall be given to the spouses
so that they may share it to their friends and family in social media.

On May 6, 2019, 1 O’clock in the afternoon, the spouses were supposed to film at Sta. Cruz
Island, Zamboanga City for a Two Hour Shoot with Serene Wedding Events Specialist. The
spouses paid for all the expenses for food and travel for the entire crew of five (5) of Serene
Wedding Events in the amount of 20,000 pesos which included (1) the fare for three small
boats to hold the crew, the equipments and the props for the shoot from the City to the Island
and vice-versa, (2) Car rentals and Gas for the transport from Serene Wedding Events’ Office in
Putik to Paseo del Mar, and (3) Pre-Nup gown and suit rentals for two sets of gowns and suits
for the shoot. However the shoot did not materialize, since the City Government had strict rules
that no boat shall leave the city after 2pm because the island is open for guests only until 3pm.

The Spouses together with the Drivers of the rented cars carrying the equipment were already
at the dock of Paseo del Mar at 12:30 noon of May 6, 2019. However the Crew of five of Serene
Wedding Events Specialist including the Event organizer Aileen Tobias and the Videographer
James Cruz only arrived at 2:30 pm. So the fare for three boats (1k each) were forfeited, and
the equipment were transported for no reason and the rented gowns and suits were never
used.

Because the negligence of Serene Wedding Events’ crew the pre nup shoot were reset to the
next earliest available date which was three weeks after the scheduled date. For this the
spouses spent an additional of 10,000 pesos on top of the 20,000 they paid for the failed Pre-
nup shoot.

Despite the delay, pre nup shoot was finished three months before the wedding. However it was
not until three days before the wedding when the spouses was furnished with a copy of the pre-
nup contrary to the agreement that it shall be released to them one month prior. Also, the
agreed video length was 3-5 minutes but what was delivered to them was a poorly edited 2-
minute video.

Worse the wedding invitations that were supposed to be sent out at least two months before
the wedding were only sent three weeks before the scheduled event. Luckily because of the
couple’s initiative and effort they were able to invite their friends and families through social
media and cell phones.
During the wedding day , the wedding cake that they ordered from the Wedding Events
Specialist which is a 5-Tier opulent ombre buttercream exterior and chocolate interior with
personalized(designed by the bride) rustic naked sugar flowers that should be meticulously
hand-crafted but instead they provided the ordinary 2 Tier almond-flavored confection despite
receiving full payment of P85,000 for the cake alone.

To their dismay, wedding giveaways should be a “flip-flop bottle opener” (since it was a beach
wedding) with mini wine and a vintage goblet but what was given to their guests was an
ordinary bottle opener only despite again the full payment for these giveaways.

Finally, there was no on-site wedding photo and video coverage that was ever received by the
spouses capturing their vows, their first kiss as husband and wife and the joys of their family
because ----- (something blatant katangahan ng organizer or camera man). Please help, feel
free to alter any name, amount or insert a story whatever. TY-KYO DAGDAG WALA NAKO
MAISIP.AHAHAHA-MAMA SAM

The on site photo and video was the only chance that the mother of the bride will ever witness
the wedding since she was not able to attend during the wedding because she is already bed
ridden suffering from cancer.
