CONCEPT

Art influences society by changing opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space
and time. Architectural designs are the utmost pieces of such artworks. A small piece of artwork can
create a positive environmental and human impact. So, we have tried to create an art installation
which is more of an experience to an observer.

Using domestic materials charged with different meanings, we have tried to create an artistic maquette
which will show how architecture is a stable entity in its forever changing surroundings.

Poorly conceived design divides us in urban areas from our wilds and has contributed to seeing nature
as something isolated from us. Yet reinvigorating our bond with nature is a challenge architecture is
well placed to address. We, as architects and designers have control over our built environment. By
changing the way we design cities and buildings to connect to rather than disconnect from nature, we
can change our proximity to nature and shift our physical relationship to environment.

The separation we have crafted over the centuries through our isolating designs is best depicted
through this anamorphic installation. A steel framed human body like sculpture will be created which
can be seen supporting an anamorphic cube. The installation is designed in a manner that the head of
the human figure can be seen merging into the distorted cubical form, thus revealing a new organic
circular form. The installation is made functional by creating pockets with plastic containers or plastic
covering for compartments. Miniature coniferous trees and a wave motion (around the sculpture) are
provided to portray the motion in environment in terms of physical aspects and time.
