HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY ‘The Management is committed to the continuous improvement of Health & Safety of Employees and all others who are directly associated. ‘THE MANAGEMENT shall implement the above Safety Policy through © Education & Training, © Creating a safe working environment. ‘* Considering the Safety performance of the employees in their Personnel Performance Review. + Providing adequate and required Personal Protective Equipments. © Ongoing enforcement of all Safoty requirements. ‘+ Updating Safety Rules and Procedures. = Promotional activities to sustain the importance of safety. ‘* Periodic assessment of Safety & Health performance through Safety Audit, Risk assessment and other relevant techniques ‘THE EMPLOYEES AND ALL OTHERS shall + Follow Safety Rules & Procedures ‘+ Wear all the required Personal Protective Equipments ‘+ Adopt safe work methods to prevent accidents ‘+ Take a proactive interest in maintaining Safety Standards Managing Director GENERAL SAFETY RULES Please comply with the following General rules ‘+ Smoke only in designated areas ‘+ Report all injuries to Ford-responsible person immodiately. Get first ald promptly if required. + Uso necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and kee them in good condition + No firearms, ammunition, weapons or explosives + No obstruction of emergency exis or placement of stock in the alsle ‘+ Ilegal drugs and alcohol are banned on all Ford sites, including parking lots + Loose fiting clothing must be secured around moving machinery = Do not wear rings, bracelets, loose necklaces, or chains if you work on or near moving machinery or ‘energized circuits + Do not use compressed air to clean your clothes or workstation ‘+ Whore both pedestrian and vehicle doors are provided, use the pedestrian door when walking + Avoid any horsepiay or fighting + Enter a roped off area only with authorization + Dornot climb on bins, racks, conveyors, or stock + Report hazards to your supervisor ‘+ Be familar with your location's emergency evacuation plan ‘+ Coll phono use is limited to plant specific designated areas ‘+ Long hair must be contained before working with moving machinery = Donot use compressed air for blowing dust or dirt from clothing ‘+ Follow instructions; don't take chances. If you don't know ask. ‘+ Report immediately any condition or practice you think might cause injury to employees or damage to ‘equipment. + Put everything you use in its proper place. Disorder causes injury and wastes time, energy, and material. Keep your work area clean and orderly ‘+ Use the right tools and equipment for the job and use them safoly and only for the purpose they are intended, ‘+ Use, adjust, alter, and repair equipment only when authorized. ‘+ When iting, bend your knees, grasp the load firmly, and then raise the load keeping your back as straight as possible, Get help for heavy loads. ‘+ Follow al rules, signs and instructions. + Note:- Samples used in these guidelines are for illustrative purposes only and while representative of those commonly used, are not intended to be ideal in specific organizational applications. PERSONAL PROTECTION To protect yourself from the residual hazards you may be required to wear personal protective Clothing / equipment. The exact requirement will depend on the job. Please wear them as and when you are required to do so and in the manner described by the Manufacturer. It you are unsure please consult your superior. Eye protection Eye protection area defined by signs. All employees, contractors and visitors must wear caprontcrms | safety glasses. Remember ‘Goggles can be replaced, Eyes CANNOT In areas where the noise level is excessive, sultable hearing protection must be provided (fears and worn. Hearing protection signs will be erected in these areas and all personal must Muctbe warn comply with. Eye & Ear Protection: Contact lenses are prohibited for use in Body shop. Safety goggles and earplugs must be worn in Stamping land Body Shops. Prescription goggles are not adequate to replace safely goggles and hence powered safety goggles must be worn, Respiratory Protection When engaging in a task likely to generate dust, mist or vapors appropriate breathing filtration should be ‘established. Advice on respiratory protection can be sought from the area SHARP engineer or plant safety engineer. Foot Protection The minimum standard footwear forall personnel inside the shop floor is a substantial fully enclosed shoes, as long as they remain in Pedestrian walk way. If required to work in line or cross the Pedestrian walkway everybody is required to wear Safety shoes. Bare feet. open toed shoes & sandals are not permited. Where issued - company supplied safely shoes inside the shop floor must be worn. Hand Protection All personnel issued with safety gloves, have the responsibilty to ensure that these gloves are worn at all times while undertaking the duties for which the gloves were issued. For al hot or similar works bare skin should not exposed. GLOVES NOT TO BE USED Gloves are NOT to be worn when working with rotating machinery such as bench dis, lathes and hand held power tools. Display the above signage where Gloves should not be used I gloves need to be worn when work with hand held rotating tools, Safety Risk assessment shall be carried out and corrective action to reduce the risk shall be done prior to the use of these tools. For chemical handing, MSDS and QPS sheets specify the most appropriate gloves to be worn. (Observe good general hygiene when working with workplace substances and wash hands before eating Loose-fitting Clothes, Jewellery and Long hi Always dress safoly to avoid the following hazards. Loose fitting clothes can easily get caught in machinery or equipment. Pants that too long or loose may catch the heel of the shoes and causing to fall. Coverall sleeves that are too long can easily get caught on moving parts and machinery sleeves should be short or fit closely at the wrist, Diry clothes soaked with oil or greases can catch fire from a spark or can cause skin irtation, Te avai ine risk of entanglement care must be taken when working near or wih rotating mactinery 2. lathes, whee! balance machines. Loose or dangling jawellery should not be worn. Don't wear rings, bracelets, long, loose necklaces or chains if you work near moving machinery or energized circuits. Long hairs should be tied back so that it cannot be caught by in or entangled in machinery. Non-standard Jobs When you do any Non-standard Job where SRA was not done please ensure the following, ‘+ Inform Safety for doing Safety Risk assessment ‘+ As a minimum protection, wear Chemical safety Goggles when liquid chemicals are involved ‘and use other PPEs also in consultation with Safety & MSDS, ‘© Allnon-standard activities related to Maintenance or Production shall be done with utmost care to prevent injury and inform Safety for Risk Assessment BE A RESPONSIBLE PEDESTRIAN The phrase " watch out for the other guy ” applies to you as a pedestrian. It means walk defensively and carefully in areas where industrial rucks are at work. Here are some safety precautions that will help you recognize hazards and prevent accidents. Watch your path of travel. Know what's immediately infront of you as well as what's farther ahead of you. Whenever possible, walk against traffic, so that you're able to see oncoming vehicles. If walking against the flow of traffic isn't possible, keep an eye out for vehicles that may be approaching from behind you. Use caution when you come to an intersection. Where both Pedestrian and vehicle doors are provided, use the pedestrian door when walking. if_an industrial truck is in your path of travel, stop until you're sure the operator sees you.
