Ma’am Apostol:

This letter expresses the intention to organize “The English League”, a club in the senior high
school department with the goal to use the English language as a vehicle for literary criticism,
argumentation, expression and discourse in both oral and written forms to examine and expound
on a variety of topics in prose, poetry, and technical writing relevant to current trends, campus
life, student concerns and interests.

The club’s is student centered. It aims to foster the students’ love of the English language,
appreciation for poetry and literature, and the empowering of language skills in speaking,
writing, listening and reading.

Prospective activities include written and oral literary discourse, peer and group language
assistance for speech and written assignments, critiques and argumentation, poetry slam sessions,
speech choir, declamation and more.

Outputs would include an annual newsletter featuring a compilation of students’ best literary
works throughout the year.
