Reinforcement & Extension Activities

Module 1: My Flowerpot family!

Materials

 Empty yogurt pot


 Coloured paper
 Lollipop sticks
 Some soil or sand
 Crayons, scissors, glue

The pupils make a flower pot with members of the family inside each flower. Provide any
necessary help.

Directions:
Ask the pupils to cover the yogurt pot with coloured paper and decorate it. Then they fill the pot
half way with soil or sand. Next they draw and cut flowers out of coloured paper. They draw and
colour a picture of a family member in the centre of each flower or stick a photo. Finally, the
pupils stick the flowers on the lollipop sticks and put them into the pot. As an extension, the
pupils can present their family, e.g. This is my mummy. This is my daddy, etc.

The pupils first choose a colour for each number, e.g. 1 blue, 2 red, etc. Then they use it as a
key to colour in the picture. As an extension, you can ask them to identify the colours.

Module 2: My school bus!

The pupils join the dots to complete the school bus. They can draw themselves on the bus and
colour it in. As an extension, the pupils can present their drawings, e.g. This is my school bus.
It’s (yellow).

Module 2: Count and say.

The pupils count the school objects and write the corresponding number. As an extension, the
pupils can colour in the items and present them to the class, e.g. four green schoolbags.

The pupils first draw three toys they have in the Me box. Then they take turns to say what
they’ve got for their friends to draw these toys in the My Friend box.
e.g. Pupil 1: I’ve got a car, a train and a kite.
Pupil 2: (draws a car, a train and a kite in the My Friend box)

session and encourage the pupils to tell you what food they have got for their picnic.

The pupils create their funny clown face. They choose, cut and stick the parts they like onto the
face. As an extension, they can present their clowns, e.g. This is my clown. My clown has got
blue eyes. etc
