• That every workout should include a
warmup and cooldown
Brief History
• Yoga can be traced back to India over 5,000
years ago
• The word "yoga" is a Sanskrit term that has
many meanings
• One of the meanings is "to harness"
• In India, a person would bring an ox under
control by harnessing it to a wagon.
• That is a metaphor used to describe the process
of yoga
• Yoga is a method for training and uniting
the body, mind, and spirit
