The main aim of this project is to do comparative equity research analysis of public & private banking

sector and to find out the opportunities of investment in these sectors where returns can be
maximized.

In India people are realizing that equity has potential to give highest return as compared to other
investment avenues however people are not aware how to do equity valuation, they just invest in
shares based on tips given by brokers, friends or family members. Investing in equity shares based
on tips is not the good investment but it is clear gambling with your money which many of us would
not like to do with our hard-earned money. Technical analysis is used to decide the right price to buy
a stock so that higher return on investment can be generated.

The NSE is a national stock exchange of India. The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE)
located at Mumbai is India's largest financial market and the fourth largest market by trading
volume. Four Banks are selected which is top in NSE. Private bank (Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank) & public
bank (Punjab National Bank & State Bank of India) are taken for comparative technical analysis.

Above mentioned four banks were analyzed based on their share price of last 36 months. By using
the technique of standard deviation, beta, correlation, co-variance, rate of return.

The main function of this project is to analyze risk of equity shares compare to return for evaluate
the performance of equity shares fund which make investment decision in future regarding shares,
funds for individual and corporate. This project also helpful to equity shares investors

Finally, the conclusion and recommendations are given with respect to derived result.

Equity Shares analytical research is essential for making better investment decision. It determines
the market price and trading volume for the stock over different periods and realize the company’s
profit. An estimation of the risk return profile of a security is an important aspect in investment
management. The stock market analysis allows you to assess the possible risk from the stock against
the possible return from the stock. The present study will definitely help the stakeholders while
taking decision with the investment in stock.
