1. General:
a. Students must be 18 years of age or older to study at the school or
book accommodation through the school.
b. Please make sure you have adequate health and travel insurance
before you come to the United Kingdom.
c. You must include on your application form information about any
mental or physical illness, allergy, disability or condition that may
affect your ability to complete the course, or that may affect any
other student, member of staff or host family.
d. Students must attend classes regularly and on time. Students will
lose their course fees if they are frequently late, absent or leave
before the end of their course.
e. In order to fulfil our obligations to you and to the British authorities,
it is necessary for us to see and copy your ID/passport (and visa
documentation if appropriate). If you do not provide us with original
documents on enrolment we reserve the right to cancel your
registration without refund. We also require contact details for you
in London (including a mobile phone number and email address), and
details of an emergency contact. You therefore agree to provide
these and keep them up to date if they change.
f. All students will be issued with an identity card at the start of their
course, which will be used to accurately record their attendance in
lessons. Students must produce their student identity card at the
start of every lesson. If lost, a replacement card will be provided at a
cost of £5. All students are expected to maintain an average
attendance of 80% in accordance with Mayfair School’s Policy on
Attendance. Failure to maintain a satisfactory level of attendance
may result in students’ courses being curtailed (see: 1d above).
g. Sometimes Mayfair School of English Ltd. or our representatives take
photographs and videos during our courses that may be used for
promotional purposes. Please advise us at the time of booking if you
do not wish to appear in any promotional material.
2. Course changes:
a. Course modality cannot be changed, for example, from full-time to
part-time or one-to-one.
b. You can postpone the start of your course for up to six months from
the original start date provided two weeks’ notice is given.
c. Students requesting changes to their course start date will be
charged £20 for the issue of new course documentation.
d. All courses are subject to availability. We reserve the right to change
or cancel course programmes in cases of low enrolments or
unforeseen events outside our control including, but not limited to,
natural disasters, labour disputes, government action, terrorism,
pandemic and the like. Refunds will not be made in such
circumstances.
3. Visas:
a. Students are responsible for their own visa applications.
b. We cannot provide the Certificate of Enrolment until full fees have
been received.
4. Cancellation:
a. If you cancel your course due to a visa refusal:
i. The school will refund any course fees paid when we have
received your original visa letter from the Embassy or Consulate
stating that your visa application has been refused plus a copy of
your passport’s photo page and signature, and a letter
authorising us to refund money to a specified bank account.
*The term ‘student’ is used here and throughout these terms and conditions to refer to any individual who has paid to undertake a programme of study at Mayfair School of English Ltd.

ii. The school will not refund course deposits, administration fees,
accommodation deposits, accommodation fees or courier fees.
iii. If applying for a refund, you must do so within two weeks of the
refusal date and before the course start date, whichever is the
sooner.
iv. If you are re-applying for a refused visa you must do so within
one month of the date of the refusal letter. In this case, you
must inform the school and send us a copy of your new
application.
b. If you cancel your course due to any other reason, the school will not
refund any course fees paid.
c. If you wish to cancel a one-to-one lesson you must give 24 hours’
notice otherwise you will be charged the full fee for the lesson.
5. Holidays and Sickness:
a. There is no reduction in fees where your period of study includes a
public holiday except for one-to-one lessons which can be
rescheduled.
b. Students on full-time, full-time plus or intensive programmes may
take holidays at any time during their course providing this allows the
student to complete the course within the period of their leave to
remain (visa) where applicable.
c. Holiday time is limited to one week per six weeks of course time (up
to a maximum of six weeks’ holiday) but may be taken consecutively
on courses of 12 weeks or more.
d. Holidays will be taken in one week blocks (Monday to Friday).
e. Holidays must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Holidays
taken without our permission may result in your visa being
withdrawn by the Home Office. In such cases, fees will not be
refunded.
f. If you are unable to attend school because you are sick you will not
be compensated for any classes missed.
6. Payments and Fees:
a. All fees are payable in GBP (£). If you are making a payment in
another currency you must ensure that the final payment received by
us is the correct amount in GBP after all currency exchange and bank
charges.
b. The course fees and deposit are valid only for the person, course(s)
and dates specified on the application form.
c. Bookings for English language courses from EEA citizens are accepted
on payment of a non-refundable £100 deposit or the full programme
fee. These bookings are subject to a £45 registration fee.
d. Bookings for English language courses from non-EEA citizens are
accepted on receipt of the full programme fee only. These bookings
are subject to a non-refundable administration fee of £100 for
courses up to £4999 or £150 for courses over £5000 plus a £45
registration fee.
e. Course payment must be made in full before the start of the course.
Failure to pay the full amount will delay the start of your course.
f. Mayfair School of English reserves the right to alter course fees.
g. Included in your course fees: Placement test, your lessons, use of
school library and study and internet facilities, end-of-course
certificate and course report, social programme activities (except
where otherwise stated). Course books are not included in the
course fees.
7. Mayfair School of English reserves the right to alter its Terms and
