Activity Objectives:

At the end of this activity you will be able to recognize important vocabulary in the
Family Medicine Context and review an important aspect of the English
Pronunciation: The word stress.

1. Warm up activity.
Find the meaning and the word type (verb, adjective or adverb) of the words in
color and then find the stress and a synonym of each one.
“According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, "Family Medicine is
the specialty that provides ongoing and comprehensive medical care for the
individual and the family. It is the specialty that deeply integrates the biological,
clinical, and behavioral sciences”. According to the World Organization of Family
Doctors (WONCA), “the aim of family medicine is to provide personal,
comprehensive, and continuing care for the individual in the context of the family
and the community”.
