Dragon Hockey Program Philosophy
The philosophy of the Pine City High Schoo! Hockey Program is to encourage personal and fundamental
growth as a hockey player, and field a competitive team at each level
Levels of Play
Varsity- The top 16 0 20 players in the program will make up the varsity roster regardless of age.
The players thatthe coaches feel give the program the best chance for success could
receive mote playing time at this level. Playing varsity hockey is a privilege, nota right
by age, and the varsity roster could have many changes during the season.
Iv Players that may soon be ready for the Varsity level will be given playing time on JV.
The roster will mainly be made up of players in grades 9-12. Players that exhibit a good
‘work ethic and understanding of skills may be given inereased playing time.
**Players will only be moved up early with the expectation that they will play at the higher level and must be
approved by the varsity coach, school administration, and parent(s).
Attendance
Regular attendance at practice is required. Unexcused absence from practice or games will result in the
loss of playing time. Every attempt should be made to schedule appointments (dental, medical, etc.)
‘around practice, Ifyou are going to miss a practice or game for any reason itis your responsibility to let
‘your coach know as soon as possible.
Expectations
Al Dragon hockey players are expected to follow the guidelines and requirements set forth by the
Minnesota State High School League, the PCHS Student Handbook, and your couches. Players that fail
to:mect these requirements will be subject to consequences set forth by the school district and the coach,
