In this class, we’ll discuss some vocabulary included into the movie category.
People love going to the movies or watching films at home. It’s a big industry,
gathering millions of dollars year after year.
Today you’ll learn to talk about types of movies, get to know the roles needed
for producing a movie and also learn how to give your opinion about the movie
itself.
Remember that much of the vocabulary is changeable. That means that you
can choose how you want to say or describe things. For example: the word “movie”
can be used just as easily as “film” or “flick”. You can say “to see a movie or to
watch a movie”.
Vocabulary
Plot - the series of events that form the main story. (enredo)
Cinema - A cinema is another word for a movie theater. If you love films,
you probably spend a lot of time at the cinema.

Genres of Movies
Movies can be divided into several different genres. There are exciting
action movies with gun fights and car chases, and horror movies that make us jump
in our seats.
There are comedies that make us laugh, and dramas that make us cry. Sci-fi
movies show us what the future might be like, historical films tell us stories from
the past, and documentaries show us real people and events.
After watching a movie, you might want to think about things like:
B: It was a good film, but the plot was difficult to follow at times.
B: The opening scene, that showed a young man leaving prison and walking
to a bus stop. The photography was really beautiful.
