December 02, 2019 (Day 1)

Yey! It’s my first day! Since it’s my first day, i woke up feeling nervous yet
excited. I prepared the things that will be needed and i also prepared myself for the
experience that is waiting there. After the preparations i went to school to get my
resume and application form and also i waited for my co-trainess because we
decided that we will meet up in the school. Then after the waiting session we’re off
to Municipal Agriculture Office, our working site.
When we arrive at the site, we went directly to the office of the Municipal
Agriculturist to inform them that we are the trainees from Saint Michael College. Mr.
Blanco welcomed us with a big smile on his face. He then introduced us to all the
employees there. After that, he went to Doc Jayzel Dela Pena and told him that he
will be the one to orient us about the schedule of our work immersion. I thought that
Doc Jayzel is kinda strict but I was wrong MUSABAY BAJA SIJA DILI SIJA KUN
HAMBOGERO. Doc Jayzel told us about the work system there. He said that our
duty will begin at 8:30 am to 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon. He introduced the different
section in the office and then explain to us the fuction of this. He promised to us that
our stay there will be memorable and remarkable. He also said that the experience
that we will get there will be meaningful and we will learn lots of things about
agriculture. He also said that as a trainee we should be wearing uniform shirts. So
we decided that every Monday we will be wearing white shirt, Tuesday will be color
gray, Wednesday will be maroon, Thursday will be color blue and lastly, Friday will
be our year level shirt which is color pink. After the orientation, Doc jayzel became
our tour guide (hehe). He let us see the other area there. In some areas, we saw
some machines that will be use in rice milling. We went to the slaughter house and
Doc Jayzel said that this will be serve as the new slaughter house of Cantilan.
Afterwards, we headed back to the office.
On the afternoon, we helped Ma’am Cherry in the paperworks. Then,
afterwards Queenne and I together with Ate Irish and Sir Julieto went to motorpool to
release complete fertelizers to the farmers. We stayed there for two hours because
there were lots of farmers who bought fertilizers. It was a nice experience yet
exhausting because it will measure your capabilities on how fast kaw magsuyat. But
Ate Irish said it’s okay because it is our first time pa naman. After that we went back
to the office. When we arrive, my co-trainees said that we will be cleaning the whole
office every morning and every afternoon before going home. So, i said yes. We
cleaned the whole office and then after cleaning we went home.
That was my first day.
December 03, 2019 (Day 2)
Second day, our uniform is color gray. Niduty ako nan 7:30 tapos hin abtan ko
si marvin tas nanhinlo kami. Hampan nagkasunod sunod na dajun pangabot an am
mga iban hampan an mga employees. When Doc Jayzel arrive, he handed to us the
schedule of our work immersion. By 8:30 we had a lesson with Sir Mark Calang
about rats and then he discussed to us the device that is used to capture the rats.
Before discussing, he then gave us a pre-test about rats. It was amazing because
we discover different characteristics of rats. Afterwards, Sir Mark said that we will be
going to Calagdaan because the said device was installed in one of the ricefield. We
went in the middle of the ricefield barefooted and there, Sir Mark furtherly explain to
us on how this device will capture a rat. And that was my experience in the morning
session.
On the afternoon, Dokie took us to Cantilan Police Station because we will be
injecting an anti rabbies vaccine on dogs. At first, i felt nervous because i’m not fund
of dogs. But Doc told me that it’s okay you can do it. Doc Jayzel discuss to us that
when you will inject a vaccine on a dog the first thing that you will do is to check the
temperature of the dog and check the dog if it is okay. By the way, if you will check
the temperature of a goat, you will check it in the anus. And the normal temperature
of the dog is 38.5 to 39. Also, there are three areas on where you should inject. First
is subcotaneous on dogs, second is intramuscular on goats and carabaos and lastly,
intervascular. Since, it is a dog, we will inject it to his skin. I tried injecting and it was
successful (HaHa). After injecting anti rabbies, we went to Calagdaan again to inject
vitamin B complex to goats. Since it is a goat, so it is intramuscular. Each of us tried
to inject.
