Union County’s food system has been an integral part of our community, particularly with a strong
agriculture industry. However, as we have recently experienced with the COVID-19 pandemic,
challenges to the system can occur unexpectedly.

In addition to local government oTcials, food pantry staff, teachers, faith leaders, restaurant owners,
farmers, interested parents and consumers, food councils thrive when residents volunteer their input.
