DC Motors

Motors
They convert electrical / magnetic energy, produced by a wire carrying current in a
magnetic field, to motion, and they found in fans, quadcopters, hand held rotary
tools.
Brushed Motors
Continuous Motors

Only go one way unless you change Polarity

Parts- Shaft, contacts, Case, Armature, Brushes, Windings, Commutator, Magnets

Load - Mechanical attachment on the motor

What causes the magnetic field - Generator action

Servo Motor
Typically brushless

4 to 12 poles

Have a type of feedback component

Fairly constant torque

Stepper Motors
Specific angular position

Ment to stop and hold the position

Each increment is called a step

Brushless Motors
Lighter than brushed motors

Less heat

Last longer due to no contact

Built in encoders
