Hey! My name is Mary. I’m an enthusiast about animals. I’m planning a trip to
Kenya (Africa) for a Safari experience. Have a look to the checklist for my trip!

 Vaccination and Immunization
Visit the doctor to check my vaccines.
Plan my vaccination schedule - At least three month prior to my trip.
Get a vaccine certificate.

Get light clothes like, shorts and T-shirts.

Get familiar with the Kenyan currency.

Do not get out of the vehicle without consulting a guide.

Hello, there! I’m going to Africa soon! Let me describe my “African safari”
checklist to you.

My checklist includes five important aspects. The first, and most important
one, is Vaccination and immunization. The Kenyan Government says I can’t
enter the country without proof that I got a vaccine against the yellow fever. I
also need to check that I have all the common vaccines (the ones you
usually get as a child). For that reason, I have to visit the doctor to check my
record and plan a vaccination schedule (in case I need it) at least three
months before my departure.

The second point on my list is the arrival. The hotel is not close to the airport
so I need to arrange a meet-and-greet service. The people from the hotel
can pick me up at The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. I have
to speak with them soon to let them know about my time of arrival and flight
number.

In addition, I need to make sure I have the appropriate clothing for Africa.
Kenya is a tropical country so days are hot and there is a lot of humidity. For
that reason, I need to buy several T-shirts and shorts for the hot weather.
There are quite a lot of mosquitos in Kenya too. I need to get a mosquito net
and an insect repellent to take with me at all times.

The fourth point on my list is money. The official currency in Kenya is the
Kenya Shilling. Although there are several ATMs in the country now, I need
to make sure I have enough cash with me in case I don’t find one. To
exchange money, it is good to have dollars or euros so I need to buy some
before my trip. I can pay for the hotel and buy souvenirs with a credit card so
I have to call my bank to authorize the use of my credits cards in Kenya. An
extra task is to find out about the Shilling: its coin and bill denominations and
to familiarize with them.

Finally, there is one important thing to consider. That is the contact with
animals during the Safari. I cannot interfere with their natural behavior. It can
be very dangerous. Also, I have to consult my guide before getting out of the
vehicles. There are usually lots of wild animals around and it is better to
prevent attacks.

My favorite vacation
My name is Xiomara Chacón and this is my family.In this photo we were on the beach
in San Andrés,where the weather was always very warm andsunny and we had so
much fun so I can'tcomplain.In this photo my whole family was barefoot. We take off
our shoes on the beach because youI felt the sand on your feet and it was
veryrelaxing.He was wearing brown shorts and a yellow T-shirt,and sunglasses.The
woman is my mother, Aida.He was wearing a yellow shirt just like me, black shorts,
and Sunglasses.The boy is my brother, Jesus David. He was wearing brown shorts
and a green T-shirt. The man is my father Carlos, he has an orange shirt, brown shorts
and sunglasses.

My favorite vacation was in 2015.I went to San Andres.I travel by plane. It was a good
flight.We stayed in a hotel where we were really treatedgood and I started to enjoy.I
spent a few days on an exotic Johnny Cay beachnear San Andres.I went to many
places on Johnny Cay.Many tourists visited Johnny Cay, and they knew and I saw the
islandand the clear blue of te seaand white sand. I played with my little brother in the
sand. We made many sandcastles with my mother help and we even had a
competition whichlt was better. And as always my brother was angry because he the
castle could not be built. We met good people from the island, and we bought and we
ate delicious seafood in the restaurants of the island.

I wanted to have a shrimp cocktail and I loved it. We ate a lot of fish and seafood, the
seafood was delicious but something I didn't like was coconut milk, it was not tasty, my
mother said yes amazing and delicious but I did not like it. It was fantastic. I practiced
diving, I swam in the ocean with my parents and brother, we saw a starfish and many
snails and crabs. On the hottest days we went to the sea and I swam to get tired, of
course I did it carefully. We went to a nightclub called the cave and then traveled on
the island. These vacations needed them to forget the problems and stressed from my
parents' daily work routine. It was a perfect beach day.

With my mother I went shopping at a very large store. We buy souvenirs, clothes,
objects, decorations. and we are completely loaded with things in the hotel. My
vacation was fantastic because I rested a lot, I met new friends and I knew beautiful
places. Obviously, all this time we take photos, which then I edited on the computer
and put effects on them, so make them look more beautiful. So my mother made a
scrapbook with them. In conclusion, I can say that I had a great time with my family I
enjoy time and moments what happened on that wonderful beach, I hope one day we
will be back there!!
