 Borrowing a license

1 Borrowing a license

This document explains how to borrow a licence for the following products of the PTV
Vision Suite:
 PTV Visum 18 (Thesis)
 PTV Vissim 11 (Thesis)
 PTV Vistro 7 (Thesis)
 PTV Vistro 7 (Book)
Install the setup file for the desired program.
You find all setup and service pack files in the download area of the desired product on
the PTV website https://www.ptvgroup.com.
If you want to use PTV Vistro, version 7.00-02 or later is required.
Update to the latest service pack.
Extract the zip archive you received.
In the extracted folder, double-click file LICENSEADMIN.EXE.
The LicenseAdmin window opens.
Click the Add to server searchlist button.
Click the Admin license button.
The License management - PTV <Program name> window opens.
Click the Borrow license button.
The Activation key window opens.
Enter the activation key you received.
The License borrowing options window opens.
Confirm with OK.
The window License management – PTV Visum updated opens. A new row for the
thesis license is displayed and the Type column contains the entry Borrowed license.
Confirm with OK.

2 Returning a license

You can return a borrowed license before the borrowing period expires.
Open the PTV <Program name> License Manager. To do so, from the Start menu,
choose > Program Files > PTV Vision 2018 > PTV <Program name> License
Manager.
In the Licenses section, select the borrowed license you wish to return.
Then click the Return license button.
The license is deleted from the list of licenses.
Confirm with OK.
