Week 2 Day 4
Human Bias in ML

1. We don't build only one model, instead we do a lot of

experiments.
2. More layers create a more complex model. So, we should try a
neural network with three layers, another with four layers, and
then choose a network that works better.
3. We shouldn't use a test data to select input features or limit
model complexity.
4. Show the model predictions to your end-users. Meaning actual
predictions on individual examples
Also, we should use AI responsibly

Unconscious biases exist in our data.

1. There are the human biases that exist in data because data found
in the world has existing biases with regard to properties like
gender, race, and sexual orientation
2. Human biases that arise as part of our data collection and labeling
procedures.
Example of Human bias

Here we can see that maid, nurse, housekeeper etc. are taken as a
female but they can be male also. Similarly, janitor, president, coach
etc. are taken as male but there are females who are president,
coach etc.
