CEO: Hi Truc, as you know, our company is having some new policies to reduce costs by

merging the Marketing Department and the Customer Care Department. what’s your idea
about this ?
Manager: I’m quite skeptical about this change. How do they work together? Marketing
department promotes our business and drives sales of products. Beside that, the Customer
Service gives help to customers and deals with their problems.
CEO: I agree with you that two department have worked independently, but i believe that
merging them together will create many positive results.
Manager: Would you mind telling me some advantages of this change?
CEO: If we combine them, Marketing can get customer’s information from Customer Care to
come up with better ideas to attract more customers. Moreover, The Customer Care can find
out the needs of customers from media activities, so they will have better activities for
customers.
Manager: So, let me guess what you mean. You think that we can take the advantage of
Customer Service in order to improve Marketing activities.
CEO: Yes, you can see that we don’t need to spend money on sending people to get
customer’s information for Marketing Dept, and they can help us promote our products. This
not only reduce costs but also helps us increase sales.
Manager: Yeah, you’re right. We put a lot of money on customers’ needs research. This
merger can solve that problem. However, do you think this change can affect staff morale? If
the staffs of these department cannot work as a unit, it will cause inefficiency.
CEO: Don’t worry, our employees are flexible and responsible people at work, they will
know what is the most important and they will adjust their emotions to work together in the
best way.
Manager: All right, I think we've covered everything, but we need to inform our staff about
this and give them time to prepare.
CEO: ok, we will announce for the human resources department so that they have an
arrangement and we will deploy it.
