species, despite the expense to humans in effort, time, and financial well-being.
Others believe that society need not make extraordinary efforts, especially at a
great cost in money and jobs, to save endangered species.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your
own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing
and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.
The relationship of humankind and the environment is one of the most pressing issues in today’s
society. When most people think about environmmental problems climate change is the first that
comes to mind. However, there are several diverse environmental problems that encompass a
different set of moral and philosophical problems. The massive extinction of plant and animal
species is one of the most important problems, as each year a significant amount of endangered
species go extinct. Some people have argued that society should not make extraordinary efforts to
solve this problem, as it would be very costly for many people, specially those in a
disadvantageous position within society. Others think that any species should be saved no matter
