Basic Geometry:
Point: The most basic geometric figure is a point. All geometric figures are made up of a
collection of points. Point has a position but is has neither size nor shape. We use dot to mark a
point
For Example:
A B
Angle: When 2 rays have a common end-point then an angle is formed. Common endpoint of
rays is called vertex of angle and the rays are called sides of angle.

Types of Angle:
Acute Angle: If the measurement of angle is between 0⁰ to 90⁰ then the angle is called
Acute angle.
Examples: 89.9⁰, 0.5⁰, 27⁰
Right Angle: If the measurement of angle is equal to 90⁰ then the angle is called Acute
Angle.
Example: 90⁰ (only)
Obtuse Angle: If the measurement of angle is between 90⁰ to 180⁰ then the angle is
called Obtuse Angle.
Example: 90.5⁰, 106⁰, 179⁰
Reflex Angle: If the measurement of angle is between 180⁰ to 360⁰ then the angle is
called Reflex Angle.
Example: 216⁰, 181⁰, 270⁰
Zero Angle: If the measurement of angle is equal to 0⁰ then angle is called Zero angle.
