TIPS TO GET YOU STARTED: Last Updated:
4/10/2014
* Provide as much detail as possible. All personal property, regardless of how small or is age, has a value.
* Include vintage or antiques that may no longer be manufactured or available for purchase.
3 * Don’t throw anything away until it has been documented and your adjuster has authorized you to do so.
* Make your list room by room and take your time. Try to create a mental picture of what the room contained. Don’t forget the inside of closets, drawers, and cabinets.
* Photograph or dictate the inventory of each room to record the quality, size and appearance of your items. This allows you to work offsite easily.
* Based on your insurance type, business inventory stock, or items used for business purposes, may need to be listed separately.
